Looks nice…. it’s not bad to have one more notebook apart from my macbook.

This HP would help me A LOT in my studies of architecture thanks to the great processor it has and the perfect size of the screen, I REALLY need a notebook but I don’t have the money to buy one. This new HP is awesome!

That computer would literally change my life! I am a graphic/web design student and illustrator graduating from Columbia College Chicago this coming spring. My only computer that I own is an ancient Toshiba laptop that couldn\’t even handle the adobe CS4 suite. And that was before it crashed 3 weeks ago!

A nice replacement of my old Acer laptop. I’m gonna use it wisely

There are many reasons I want to win this notebook and if i were happen to win it, that would be awesome and really surprising. The first and important reason is that I don’t have enough money to buy it myself because every time i try to save money, it ends up either going to house bills and school accessories and text books which don’t me wrong is more important than my design related needs, but i wish I would be able to save enough to buy it.

I’m a student majoring in product design. However, I do have have the ability to support the resources (softwares) since my laptop has been faulty and is breaking down. I can’t really afford another laptop. This could help me pursue my dream of being a satisfactory product designer in the coming future. I would really like to put my little works from paper onto screen, from 2D into 3D and more.

Really power for my work, my creative design, my style.
i’m inter-being with HP Envy swings.

It would make me happy and i could start dooing some work at home, learn after effect, and get beter job.

Well. It would be better then my current low cost low performance Asus.

It would be nice to have a decent laptop for a change with high end hardware to work on. I think my productivity would go up by a mile.

This would be unbelievable as I’m going into grad school (architecture) and can’t pay for a new laptop. It has the horsepower to drive my design work but does it with style and portability. Mobile perfection.

This machine going to unleash the monster of functional design within me that will revolutionalise the everyday living in a better way.

There’s only way that could describe how I would use this laptop if I win. I would use it everyday to help me with my digital designs and to produce more artwork. It would be a freedom for me from a very limited laptop that couldn’t handle the advance programs these days.

I just came across this contest and thought I’d give it a try.

Winning this actually would make a significant difference in my life.

I am embarrassed to share why it will for reasons that will be obvious after reading my comment.

I am in Ohio and out of work, luckily my girlfriend makes just enough to keep her, myself and our daughter out of a shelter.  We have also been blessed with family that have given us couches and spare floor room after losing our house at the end of August.

It’s a rather long story.

I have several painful health problems (chronic kidney stones and diverticulosis) that has cost me jobs, good college grades and a home.

We were both in school when we learned that we would be having a baby.
So since my girlfriend was closer to her  degree, I dropped out of the physics program at the University of Toledo.

Without any degree I’ve been stuck in bad jobs.

We would rely on her loan returns to make ends meet as a $3500 injection of money every semester was enough to catch us up on bills while I worked 60-70 hours a week in minimum wage jobs.

She graduated December ’08 from Bowling Green State University with a BA in Psychology, which is a huge gain for our family.  I couldn’t be more proud of her.

Well, because I had dropped out of UToledo, when I tried to return, they required that I attend two semesters without federal aid (I WOULD get a free ride via grants)
before I would have my funds reinstated.  I do accept responsibility for my mistakes, but still feel it is extremely harsh of them when I want nothing more than to get an education and make a good life for my family.

Well, no school means no student loan refunds to make ends meet, and making it worse were my frequent trips to the ER (I am currently around $150,000 in debt from medical bills) that got me fired many times.

I started trying to do computer repairs on the side while looking for work as my girlfriend tried–unsuccessfully–to pick up hours at the restuarant she worked at.

Without the extra $3,500 every semester, we started getting behind more and more.

My girlfriend found a job working in a home for children with behavioral and developmental disabilities at $13/hr. But by then, it was too late.

Our housing related debt is currently:
Gas: $3,200
Electricity: $700
Water: $400
Rent: $1,500.

Well, needless to say, utilities got shut off for non-payment and we got evicted.

We basically have struggled from couch to couch and living room floor to living room floor with our 2yr-old daughter since August.

My grandmother had been renting a room in her two-bedroom home and the tenant moved out last Friday, that is when we moved in. God bless my angel of a grandmother… We are no longer homeless.

I did manage to get into a business school for Computer Networking; however, since they use a quarter style schedule, my return in October after books was only $190.
With no computer at the time (I had to sell mine to pay bills in July) I couldn’t do my school work as I feel I could have.  When I was at UToledo, I earned a 3.6 GPA majoring in Physics. At my current college, being homeless and without my own computer, I only pulled a 2.5 GPA

A big ray of light is that a former coworker had started an entertainment guide for the Toledo area(www.TheEntertainerPaper.com) and needed a designer.  He has been gracious enough to let me use his home PC until I can finally afford one of my own.

Winning this amazing laptop, I feel, would make a huge difference in my life because I could not only concentrate on my studies and get better grades, but it would also make it a million times easier to design the paper and help put food on the table for my family.

I do not want pity, and I am embarrassed by spouting my personal details to the entire world, but I will forgo any shame necessary if it means even just a little chance at making a better life for my family.

My girlfriend Andrea and my little girl Ava are the light in my world, and I want nothing more than to see them happy and safe.  My daughter deserves a stable life, she didn’t ask for my failures.

This laptop will make a huge impact if I am chosen as the winner.

Even if I am not chosen, I at least hope that people will look at these current hard economic times through understanding eyes and not judge and belittle others as I have been in the past several months. I have swallowed my pride more than I ever have.

My story is sincere and happening to people all over this country.  This laptop WILL help one of those if we win. (fingers crossed)

This would be great to replace my ageing 6-year-old HP laptop because the backlight on the screen is dying! With this laptop I would be able to actually SEE what’s on the screen – Bluray, movies, internet, games…mmm. Plus I could carry the laptop around without risking an injury from heavy lifting!

Ahhh. The $1,800 HP Envy 15 Notebook would allow me to effectively take some online courses to help earn a degree faster. The job market here is terrible, and the best way to better my odds of finding a new, rewarding career is to get a degree. This would help me a lot as I am a student and sadly, a few weeks ago my house was broken into and they stole my laptop, which wasn’t covered by my insurance and I can’t afford another one. Now I have to walk 45 mins into campus to get the use of a computer. The crime number is NL07267096. This laptop would make a serious difference to my life and would hopefully enable me to get a 2.1 in my degree. Need some good luck at the moment.

I’d beable to be much more productive than I am at the moment as the laptop would allow me to work efficiently on the long 1.5 hour bus trips I have to and fro uni. A pity that all the other commuters stare at my 7″ netbook with those judgemental eyes

A great thing to let me compute in style. I’ll like to have one.

My current hp laptop is LITERALLY a hinge away from total destruction. It still works, but only if your definition of working is turning on and barely lasting 30 minutes on the power saver option. As an art and urban studies major, it would be awesome to have a computer that will last me through more than half a lecture, at the same time providing a powerful running interface for my personal needs. Even with my HP crisis, I still am a loyal PC lover and a big supporter for HP products. So, please choose me for your Envy give away!

After over 3 years of apple not doing anything new with its OS (it is practiaclly unchanged since its initial release, apart from minor tweaks) I think that Windows is taking the lead in interface design. Now HP has reached the Apple industrial design level, I really want to switch back to the PC platform in its best reincarnation. Apple needs the healthy competition and it is coming fast…

If I were Jesus, I could multiply it and give it to the millions of people who do not have a computer. Or who do not have a computer as sexy and powerful as this one.

If I were the Blessed Virgin Mary, I could tweet the birth of my child to the whole world so that everyone saw Jesus as soon as he was born.

I believe it’s culturally much harder to do this than it is technically. I wonder how they’re changing to push for design like this?

I totally want to win this HP laptop because it will help me develop my work. I am an architect+designer and i NEED a computer such as this one with all its capacity.
I have to work with 3d programs that demand a computer with a lot of RAM, processor, screen, battery and more.

For sure this HP Envy Notebook will make a difference in my life as I´ve never had a laptop! Will be my first personal computer and will change my life in many ways.

As I´m a graphic designer I could take work everywhere and will help me developeing it!

Also will give me more space at my home! I live in a tiny apartment, and having a laptop insted a traditional pc will give me more free space, making my life more comfortable.

The new HP Envy is out of this world from what I have seen from the HP website. Not only is this thing a performer, it looks fantastic. As a designer I can say that they really put a lot of thought and time into the development of the Envy.

The battery life alone would be a huge help for me. No more worries about me outlasting the battery in a days time. As a designer running multiple CAD packages, and graphics too. I did notice when I was specifying a system on HP’s website that Corel graphics were bundled with it. I love this fact because Corel was what i learned in college, and I have always struggles with Adobe.

If I won a new HP Envy I could sell my Dell Vostro and put the money toward getting my fist seat of Solidworks.

I know HP and Solidworks are synonymous . I would be curious of what Solidworks thinks of the new HP Envy.

This Envy laptop would really change my life. I could start my own webdev business and develop while I’m travelling. It would also be great for design ing in Photoshop! I’ve never had a laptop and this one looks awesome and has the potential!

Great contest – hope it’s open to fellow Canucks! The way this laptop will make a difference in my life is that I do a fair amount of web design and video editing for non-profits (churches, youth camps), and I can’t take it with me to show them at meetings, since my present portable is a netbook. i’d be very excited to have such notebook. i study architecture, i’m having a diploma this summer so i will be smashing my computer over and over and over again mixing 3d-project with 2d-graphics including rendering and maybe creating some animations.

I’m trying to develop social design and I know that the communists are not welcome in the Western countries like the USA. But I truly and deeply believe people can change things. I don’t believe in any kind of god but I do believe in mankind. I believe we can change things and make a better world. I won’t say that this computer will change my life, but it will allow me to be more efficient on designing objects.

Anyway, we can, if we work all together, improve every body’s life and THAT should be the goal of everyone who cares for others.

How will the HP Envy 15 make a difference in my life? I own a Dell at the moment, need I say more?

The HP Envy 15 will change my life because it will allow me to keep working when it’s becoming increasingly difficult since my computer is so old it’s about to die.

Well, I don’t have a super ancient computer or am barely surviving on my own merits but I do have a desktop. It’s a basic HP office class computer that cost me $200 as my previous laptop crapped out on me.

This laptop just means I’ll be able to be more mobile and I can be more productive during my trips to Barnes & Noble.

Help out an awesome graphic designer! I reblog a good amount of things I see on YD to try and spread the word about this great blog so you’d really be helping yourself. =D Ahaha!

I recently relocated and ended up selling all but one of my computer (MacBook Pro). Although I am an Apple Consultant, I do have quite a few clients with Windows machines so having a Windows machine is a huge benefit. Between start-up business costs and buying a house I will not be able to buy a “good” Windows machine for a while.

So basically, winning the HP Envy would help my business, which would be awesome!

Envy’s were from Voodoo PC and meant to be high end laptops for their design, like really expensive but really cool designs and branded. Now they’re HP, somehow I feel the premium brand is gone when you brand it under HP. Not to mention the color and tatoo choices you could get. HP Envy 15 Notebook will be great value add on due to its differentiating innovative, creative and style features.

The HP Envy would be wonderful inmy life. It would mean not having to share with my teen son for computer time. Being able to do my work uninterrupted by a nagging teen would be fantastic.

I guess a lot of people want this computron then, huh?

Envy’s were from Voodoo PC and meant to be high end laptops for their design, like really expensive but really cool designs and branded. Now they’re HP, somehow I feel the premium brand is gone when you brand it under HP. Not to mention the color and tatoo choices you could get. Oh well just go get a cheaper laptop from a cheaper retailer, brand is just brand .

Winning this would make me the “Envy” of my friends, currently I am the laughing stock with my unreliable Acer machine! I would not be afraid to take it out in public.

Currently I don’t have a usable laptop and having the HP Envy would be incredibly useful for me as I am taking classes to study in the field of Computer Science. I would be able to study and work on my projects literally anywhere I go, whether it be at home, work or the local coffee shop.

This laptop is gorgeous! I love the sleek aluminum and alloy case, and the frameless screen which gives the design an even sleeker look. I also like that the display is hi-def, and that the laptop is thin and easy for travel. The design is very modern and stylish, and this is definitely the laptop of the future. A new laptop is #1 on my Wishlist this holiday, so I would love to win this! This laptop might just save my sanity. My current tablet PC had been on and off life support for quite some time, and while my tech-saavy brother was finally working on it to restore it to full health, his son knocked a full 16 oz. cup of coffee into it. Yes, ‘into’ it. Reports were that sparks flew–various zip-zap noises were heard as well. So, sad to say, its life has finally ended… and I miss my mobility dearly.

As a young architect who had been unemployed till this week I need a powerful and beautiful instrument to work on. My old computer is literally dying when I try working with some more complicated 3D models, and I feel like I’m held back, not being able to create the things I have imagined.

as an industrial design student, we need technology to help further our designs and this laptop would make my designs soar! i have to use programs like cs4 collection, solid works, rhino, and 3ds max and my current computer cant handle all of that information. i literally have to have 2 external hard drives to store my information so that my computer does not freeze up. i have stayed up for 18 hours straight working for my computer to freeze up and lose all the information i had been working on and all that effort went for nothing. this computer would be a blessing for me. i thank you for the opportunity yanko.

My last computer was an HP desktop which got me through several years of design school. I just recently bought the HP mini to use just for internet and on the go emails and the such. I recently relocated to South Kora to teach English in the poorest school district in the poorest county in the country. My laptop broke a hinge and a corner almost as soon as I got here which has made it really difficult to use and darn near impossible to even get repaired here. I was hoping to make enough money to buy a new one in the Spring but winning this sleek new model would be even better. I an hoping to start work on a graduate degree in educational media design

I live my life on the computer as its my job and literally my life. Its where I met my husband, where I work, where I go to school, where I hang out with friends, where I keep in contact with my family and friends, where I learn everything. As a graphic design student and an admittedly pretty big gamer, I need a computer that can handle the power. My computer, which I only bought last year, has died on me and has come back to life, but with much less power to run the programs I need. Along with those things, I’m a composer and need to run BIG programs such as ProTools and Finale and other software that I have yet to acquire. I am currently a freshman Industrial Design student at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design. I have been with out a computer for some time now. If I had my own laptop this powerful this would really help me in my Cad and design courses. Allowing me the mobility and technical advantage a computer like this would give me, instead of having to use the limited amount of computers that our school has which can actually run such design programs. Not worrying if I will be able to find a computer availble to finish my homework on time and the ability to work on homework while not at the school would greatly improve my grades and lower my overall stresslevels and allow me to get more sleep. This computer would change my whole world! I have been struggling with my current laptop, it being the only computer I have. My computer is beyond old, and only getting farther and farther from being able to do the things I need it to do. I’m currently a graphic design student at vTSTC, our whole course is literally within the virtual world of SecondLife. SecondLife alone puts a great strain on this old Toshiba laptop, but when coupled with needing to also run programs like the Adobe CS3 or even GIMP,this computer falls short, and literally crashes when having just one of those programs open at a time, let along one alongside SecondLife. Just running one of these programs however also has other effects on my laptop that I fear may also soon end it’s life. While running any of these types of programs my laptop overheats, dramatically so. On one such occasion I happened to be working on homework, and the laptop overheated, before I realized that it had already left a burn on my thigh, the mark of which still remains.

Beyond what I’ve already said of my current laptop, it also falls short in looks. Now I’m not one to worry too much about the design of a laptop, or the colour, but when it comes to being professional one needs to take these types of things into consideration. I don’t feel comfortable taking my current laptop out of the house at this point, from the years of use it literally falling apart, I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve moved it only to find a piece of plastic left on the table, or in my lap.This new laptop would be perfect for meeting with clients and for going into meetings with potential employers/networking with high end businesses. When compared to the former shell of a laptop my current computer is, this new one would be life changing.
So I hope you’ll consider all I’ve said, and give this struggling graphic design student the tools he needs to get his career started.

At home we all share a 3 year old imac that is getting as slow as hell. It will make a big difference in my life because I could finally have my own machine…kids free!

Though my current laptop is only a little over 2 years old, there are spots around the case where the plastic is already flaking. In addition to the excellent speed, form factor, and weight of this unit, I’m most looking forward to the durable metal case for my commute to school and between classes.

I’m currently studying Industrial Design at CSULB, and it’s kind inconvenient to switch back and forth between mac and windows on my 3-year-old MBP. If I get this laptop, it will help me so much on my academic achievement, I can do better renderings and have better grades! And the more practices I have, the better my skills become, and the more amazing my design will be! This will benefit all the people on Earth!!

This HP Evny would make a huge difference in my life! The computer that I am currently on is over 10 years old and the last update it has had is Windows 2000. Almost every time I get on it says “virtual memory low” even though I have deleted mostly everything on the computer. It will close out on me at any given moment. That is especially annoying when typing things like this or emails and I have to start all over again. I can’t watch videos, I can’t listen to audio. I’ve been waiting for this laptop for like a year. It couldn’t have come at a better time. My current HP Pavilion zt3000 is on it’s last legs. Survived spills, chills, and drops in its 5 year span! I lost my job in 2008 and I am STILL looking! If I won this it would be nothing short of a miracle. The ENVY is EXACTLY what I need to get started on more intensive design apps and increase my overall productivity, and – most importantly – get me through design school next year.

Way better than the desktop I’m using right now. Plus with a laptop I could surf the net ANYWHERE not just my office.

Would definitely make a difference. I could have it in the kitchen while cooking. Or take it with me elsewhere. All I have (& have ever had) is a desktop.

Thought of something else. I’m ALWAYS writing notes down or taking a note book with me to doctors, dentists, and school appointments. Would be so much easier to type in, save, and bring along.

I feel so limited with my low memory traditional desktop computer. Even though I am retired, I would still like to have the portability of an awesome laptop like this one.

I like to share videos and pictures, but it bogs down my desktop so much that I often give up before I get it all done. I also notice that I don’t get good quality on live streams, so I rarely click on anything because the choppy picture/sound makes it so not worth the effort.

This laptop would make a huge difference in my life. Right now I have a laptop but it has so many problems that its not worth using. I need a working laptop for school to take notes on. I have dysgraphia so taking notes on a computer is the only way that i know of to keep them readable. The laptop i have now dose not work unless its plugged in. The battery dose not hold a charge, so i have to pray that my classes have plugs close by so i can use it. Half of my classes now do not have a plug in them so my laptop is pointless to take. The other problem my laptop has now is that it gets the blue screen of death at least once every 3 weeks or so. Thank you so much for the chance to win it. It would change my life fore the better. Winning the HP Envy would be a great thing for our small business. We don’t currently have a laptop, we depend on the PC I am using now. My husband is a carpenter, and I type up all of his estimates, do all his photos of jobs, do billing and alot of other things that something portable would be much easier to manage. It would be fantastic instead of writing everything longhand and then coming home, to be able to type notes up, do the pics on site, and present estimates to customers right when they are there. It would look alot more professional (even considering we have been in business 20 years)to come into the age of instant info with a bang with the HP Envy. Thanks so much for the chance!

I do a lot of work on the road at different clients businesses. The laptop I have now my sister gave me after she bought a new one and it is very slow. It is very embarrassing when I am trying to show my clients something on my laptop and it takes forever to load. The Envoy would make a huge impact on even the way i live. I have never owned any laptop of any kind and this would be a new experience for me.
