Kitchen Module - Fully Equipped

Kitchen Module – Fully Equipped

Welcome to tomorrow’s kitchen. Designed by Eliza Shubert for the new generation. First, and maybe most importantly to aesthetically-concious designers such as yourselves, it transforms. When it’s not in use, it’s out of the way, it’s nice. Looks like some regularly lovely decor. Touch-screen technology, cooking board, work board, sink, water delivery, air extraction hood, and fabulous lights (for the ability to see.)

Curvy Bike

Curvy Bike

How would you re-define a bike? Tinker with it to get greater speed and performance? The curvy Hidemax Cycle is born out of the notion to enhance speed, functionality, looks, comfort, resistance and durability. In short it tries to address all major issues that bog a bicycle designer. Here’s what it’s got: adjustable height achieved by loosening the grip apparatus around the steering wheel. Instead of an up/down axis, the saddle of the bike can be adjusted to left/right through its 2 different joint points.

Sugar Pot Honey Pot

Sugar Pot Honey Pot

Designer Johanna Hartzheim here explores in two kitchen items my favorite thing in the whole world: Simplicity. We’ve got here (as the title suggests) a sugar pot and a honey pot, pot and pot. Exciting! Both items in question were explored as far as their context of usage, their situation at the dinner table, and their formal integration (the normal stuff such as materials, functions, and yes! Symbolism.)

One Tent Two Tent One Tent

One Tent Two Tent One Tent

So! Winter is well on it’s way. There’s no way around it. As the world turns, so do the seasons *unless you don’t live in Minnesota, and you’ve got to understand that camping season is almost over! So make the best of it with the greatest tent invention since the tent itself: the tent connection device. Called “Abri Socio” by its mad-scientist creator, it will change the way you camp… FOREVER!

Guessing Game Deuce

Guessing Game Deuce

We have only this on YD once before, right now we’re gonna go ahead and play the GUESSING GAME again, RIGHT NOW!

Just by looking at this Pre-Picture can you guess what the item is? The explanation is in the Permalink, but be honest with yourself and tell me what exactly did you think this was?

A New Dimension To Tea Drinking

A New Dimension To Tea Drinking

I never really understood the elaborate ritual of brewing the perfect cup of tea. Maybe I’m uncivilized and vulgar to assume that you simply need to boil the leaves in hot water, add milk and sugar, and you’re done. Ok you snooty people stop cringing… do it your way with the Dione Tea Set. Described as a set of teacups with two hemispheres and a thin net preventing the tea leaves from entering the cup and involving some 180 degrees of rotation, the fuss is about keeping the aroma of the tea leaves alive.

Music and Time On Your Wrist

Music and Time On Your Wrist

We’ve evolved from Walkman to iPod (plus whatever else there is, let’s be honest) and from wrist watch to cellphone-held-clock. Now. What would have happened if instead of the clock merging with the cellphone, the clock merged with the music device? We’ve got wrist tunes, contact!

Oh I see you! Peek!

Oh I see you! Peek!

Such a lovely object, this little thing. Yes indeedy. Just the thing I need to put up there with all of my other lovely things, all sitting there in a row. But what’s it’s function, this mystifying object? Well let me take you on a mysterious journey! A journey into the unknown! The “PEEK!”

The Ball is The Game is The Stadium

The Ball is The Game is The Stadium

The following stadium was designed by the wonderful folks over at UNStudio, especially one Ben van Berkel. He (they) won a limited competition to design a gigantic football stadium for the most successful football (soccer for you USA residents) team in the Chinese Super League: Dalian Shide FC! The design reflects vividly the breathtaking amalgamation of the ancient Chinese cuju football. A must peek.

Roasting Marshmallows In The Vulcan

Roasting Marshmallows In The Vulcan

Citing space-crunch as a major issue with matchbox homes, the Vulcan Stove Fireplace adapts itself to this reason, but that alone should not be the criteria for liking it. A warm fireplace but totally utilitarian, it hosts numerous shelves for your things and has the potential to be the focal point of your living space. In practical times as these, where electric heaters and radiators vie for equal attention; a warm, cozy, functional fireplace as this makes me all mushy and crave winter.

The Woofer Power of a BEAR

The Woofer Power of a BEAR

Behold, if you DARE, the Eco Woof; the sub-woofer that’s got the woofer power of a BEAR! But CHILL! There is no bear actually powering the “Eco-Woof,” only the power of glass domes. Where wood boxing would normally hold the raw beats exploded forth from the speakers, glass domes and downward facing blasters suffice. The wood grain is so very classy, wouldn’t you say? Oh, and there’s green in it, too!
