This TV's a Trifecta

This TV’s a Trifecta

See the time, weather, and cooking channel, or just go all-out Back to the Future style and watch three different television shows at once. Made actually for the extra busy family that needs to see multiple screens at once, the “Active Lifestyle Television” tends to the needs of three screen-needing family members or folds up into one giant screen for that one giant football dad in the group.

The Yin And Yang In Phones

The Yin And Yang In Phones

Maybe it’s the Pagan Symbols that have inspired it or the fact that Yin and Yang need to co-exist in every design form, but the truth is Love Connection Mobile Phone Concept doesn’t remind me of the relationship between male and female; neither the dent, nor the projectile! It however is a sweet attempt at being something different as an MP3 player + Phone + Camera + Entertainment System.

Don’t Duck Around This Player

Don’t Duck Around This Player

Quack Quack! Ok I won’t kid around this time, but I think Mac Funamizu has matured pretty much in his design sensibilities. The CD player is called Quackie, but the concept looks decent enough for the tweens who endorse stuff like the Mickey Mouse MP3 players. Quackie is thus: There’s a round body that rolls and a black speaker. The speaker is attached to the body at the axis and it rolls around the body. Simple functions of play/stop/next/back and volume up/down are included.

Turtle Wrench

Turtle Wrench

Bloody ol’ genius that’s what we’ve got here! It’s a new way to take off a tire. Stick with me here, this is really neat. You take this “Turtle Wrench,” right, and you attach it to your wheel: it connects to all of your wheel bolts at once. Now the wrench has four arms sticking out, one of them each a wrench that correlates with a bolt. You drive forward one full rotation, and as you push forward each wrench, it loosens a bolt.

360 Degrees of Green Pod Chariot

360 Degrees of Green Pod Chariot

Four wheels, chariot stance driving position, and no regrets. That’s what’s up. Alexei Mikhailov has a green pod of goodness here for us, the future-world city speedway single-person-transport. It’s called the VW Pholeum. It’s got an external wheel base which allows a 360 degree range (eliminating the antiquated parallel parking blue), fully immersed rubberized tires and independent spoke arrangements allowing for full bump absorption without the use of suspension. And more!? Yay!

Protect Your Feet In Disaster

Protect Your Feet In Disaster

The Braun Post-Disaster Emergency Foot Protective Accessory is for the rescue workers who are there on scene of disasters like earthquakes. Due to the disturbed topography after such calamities, the feet of the rescue guys are most vulnerable and susceptible to injury and infection. Shards of glass, nails, debris etc. hamper the mission and walking over them always poses a threat. This handy contraption fits snugly over the shoe and protects the feet from accidental nips and cuts thanks to its sturdy structure.

Mighty Wine Tree

Mighty Wine Tree

Inspired by the mighty Sequoia, the Wine Tree by Kendall LeCompte is for the true wine connoisseur. Experts differ in opinion on how one should store wine but you can’t go wrong with this. Just look how elegant and compact it is. The smaller version holds 10 bottles and the bigger one takes 17. Not a wino? There’s a mini version too that holds 7 bottles.

Fixies Light Up!

Fixies Light Up!

Yay for buttons! I’m basically in love with anything that with a switch, click, or pull can activate a system or complete a circuit. Here we’ve got a bit of a bike attached to a pole which in turn is attached to a light and a lamp that activates upon the engaging of the brake. A very simple connection executed in a really elegant manner.

Ultraviolet Baby Bottle

Ultraviolet Baby Bottle

Dubbed “Pureray” by its creators in reference to its completely amazing ultraviolet rays lamp at the base and amplification pipe up the center. Each bottle is stored with a cap which screws off the top, screws on the bottom, and provides ultraviolet light to disinfect any evil viruses or germs one baby formula on the rocks might have. Made for traveling.

A New Look At The Carafe

A New Look At The Carafe

Venice is host to some of the most spectacular glass factories in the world. A place where exquisite mouth-blown pieces are created every single day. I found new respect for this industry when I visited one such factory and saw how they artistically breathe life and form into a blob of molten glass. Featured here is the Barbara Carafe Vase, a beautiful mouth-blown piece with modern sensibilities. A colored crystal ball doubles as a seal and a tactile magic ball to the carafe.

You Have Smartphones? Here’s a Smartwatch

Sleek and minimal? Check. Large screen? Check. Oodles of tech? Check, check and check! The E’llipse Traveler is a watch to end all watches. Why? Because it has a fancy processor and the latest algorithms in human-machine learning. Yes it learns you! It knows what you want and keeps you up to date. That’s not all. ZigBee and Bluetooth modules enable indoor localization, an impossible feat for GPS. The UI is based on widgets – one for every kind; time, weather, calendar and a custom API lets developers get creative.
