Sporty Bike

Sporty Bike

I told you there was this bike conspiracy going on amongst the designers, add the Furious Sports Bike to the list. Dishy in its current avatar; the bike boasts of an aerodynamic design coupled with user-friendly ergonomics. What I really like is the ample display nestled between the handlebars. You get details like the route-map, current bike gear, temperature, time and speed displayed on it. The seat however looks tad uncomfy for me.

MP3 Player Karaoke Style, Thank You Korea

MP3 Player Karaoke Style, Thank You Korea

Queue up a line because if the ORIO were real, I can see loads of blokes and blokettes wanting it. The seemingly benign MP3 player doubles as a karaoke recorder. Squint your eyes real hard and think; how often do you sing along when listening to music? Why not record that and put it all over the interweb for people to see! The ORIO even draws from a database to show you realtime lyrics and you “green” enthusiasts will be happy to know, ORIO is completely made of biodegradable plastic.

Busy Buddy Kibble Nibble Review

Busy Buddy Kibble Nibble Review

This is just one of many upcoming video reviews from an awesome company called Premier and their line of dog toys called Busy Buddy. The Kibble Nibble Food and Treat Dispenser is a hollow ball with openings on each end. The premise is simple. Put food in the ball and give it to Rover. It’s an easy game for any dog to figure out and they love it. It keeps them moving and interactivity is key to a positive doggy state of mind. Hit the jump to see my dog Miko in action!

Not Your Mother's Wicker

Not Your Mother’s Wicker

The Chaise Vari pays homage to itinerant weavers in Mexico City whom you can catch creating one of a kind pieces using old school blacksmithing and weaving techniques. The Chaise Vari takes the skills to new levels; more robust and aggressive using modern materials like steel and PVC cords in a variety of colors. Each piece is handmade and fits nicely in any modern decor, definitely not your mother’s wicker. The Chaise Vari is just one part of an exhibition at the Galería Mexicana de Diseño called Exploraciones. Check it out.

 Reinvention Of The Wheel?

Reinvention Of The Wheel?

Perhaps, but who am I to argue with designers. I get this uncanny feeling that there is a deluge of cycle concepts floating around, so if you get bombarded by one too many concepts, please bear with us. And what have we here; an urban cycle that can be toned down to save space when not in use. Why? Urbanites don’t have spacious homes, and those who do…they don’t need bikes, they use shiny cars. The design consists of 2 systems: Wheel folding system & Bike Structure System.

Certianly yummy, really and truly called the “Sweet Seating” collection by ice-cream lover Sander van der Haar. Made to remind the user of delectable sweet candy, these soft-serve seats and pillows have what the sugar-addict calls absolute pleasure. They’re durable and delicious. Dipped in a variety of colors and filled with cheer.

High Fashion MP3

High Fashion MP3

So the fine folks at high fashion brand Vivienne Tam decided they needed something special for their 2009 VIP customers. So they spoke with the Kit Men. The Kit Men said hay let’s make some real “technology art” and whip up a really hot mp3 player with some sass. And so they did.

Keep On Switchitallingaling!

Keep On Switchitallingaling!

Pugin! This thing is designed by Matthias Pugin! Kinda like plugin, which is what you’ll have done once you experience this clock. Made out of magic, aka magnets controlling metal bars which make up the surface of the clock, move about creating what appears to be a clock whose face, though analog, seems to perform a complicated movement task. The steampunk gang will be happy if this little diddy renders out nice enough!

Decorating The Roof

Decorating The Roof

Our roofs are oft left neglected coz most of us don’t have green thumbs to transform them into roof gardens. If the inclination is there, then these modular pots called Natural Protector can come in quite handy. What they do is they open up on all four sides to form a waterproof layout-base for growing plants. A network of these opened-up pots on your rooftop plus a couple of fancy seedlings, and you’re good to go.

It's Alive!

It’s Alive!

This light is alive. That’s what I mean. I remember when I first realized that the terrifying glowing death orb coming to eat me when I woke up in the middle of the night was actually my Apple tower. This isn’t that! But it is alive, and it is a lamp.

Weird Cups

Weird Cups

Take a taste! The oddities we’ve had here at Yanko are some to throw you for a twist, and this is no exception! No exception at all! Pour yourself a glass of the old Winyard with the milk can, or dip yourself some savory flavor with the oil platter! Shovel yourself some salt with the cellar or dump some vinegar on your dish with the flask!
