[...] The Nixie clock is, apparently, nothing new; due to the tubes’ ability to display numerals, it’s pretty common to see them in retro-chic time-telling devices. Designer Daniel Kurth, however, believes he’s got a new spin on the idea: He believes that clocks have to come to be a force of negativity, because we’re constantly reminded of time. The Nixie Concrete Clock, with it’s unconventional tube arrangement (the time above is 10:23 and 54 seconds), may not immediately register as a time-telling device, delaying that feeling of pressure that a conventional clock brings.
