This is a vehicle, for the world, to transport goods around the world, with a lot less pollution! Sounds great, doesn’t it? It’s able to drive on the road, get aboard some train tracks, travel really far (on ALGAE fuel cells!), get off the tracks, and go to where it needs to be! Fun, yes?

I am so in LOVE with this squeezer! Exquisite in style, it’s one of those classy looking tools that don’t just sit pretty on your kitchen counter top; it’s actually functional! The hand-held reamer is dishwasher safe and has a cup fashioned at the base to catch the pips and bits. In a time that we see dime-a-dozen non-functional jazzed up tools, this utility “Catcher” comes as a refresher.

Scenario 1: Dishwasher load is done, now you take out the dishes and place them in their respective shelves, cabinets etc. Been doing this all your life! Scenario 2: Wall mounted Electrolux Bifoliate Double Dishwasher uses one compartment to clean the dishes via ultrasonic wave technology;you then transfer the clean load into the next shelf. Space saving, less time consuming, done in a jiffy. Which Scene do you like?

YD isn’t the ideal place to discuss suicide, but that’s the only inspiration that one gets from the Mint Light #5 You Only Live Once Lamp. The hangman’s noose works in a creepy way as well; tighten the noose to turn it off and loosen it to brighten the lights. Almost poetic in a way….life is a precious gift, if you let your worries depress you, its like the tight noose of this lamp–DARK. Enjoy what you have and it brightens up your life!

What do we want? Rocking chair! When do we want it? In under 20 seconds! Thats what you want. I know you do. You’ve got a chair that sits flat on the ground, you’ve got a rocking chair, but what you really want is 2 in 1. The “Fotel” by Budapest, Hungary designer Peter Vardai is just the loving spoonful you are looking for. And it’s got nice colors, too!

Humor aside, it’s quite tough to aim a heavy Lifesaver tube, accurately to a drowning person. It would be much easier to throw him the Rescue Stick, which is a baton shaped contraption. Contraption it is, coz it’s strings undergo a chemical reaction when they hit the water; they dissolve to release a horse-shoe shaped float. So basically the baton reacts to the water and becomes a life-saving device. As a back-up plan, in case the reaction fails, the tube can be inflated manually.

The saddle. What’s more classic than the saddle. The HORSE saddle, I should say. There ARE things more classic than the RAT saddle, which of course is ridden by the common cowboy cricket. No, I am talking about the human-to-horse saddle here, and what we HAVE here is a design that re-interpreits that. With a nice, shiny new, web mesh.

A designer professor once told me that the key to a good design was innovating on an existing one. Kinda like improvising and adding a new dimension to the product. Take the casestudy of keys; until now the focus has been improving the locking mechanism and safety features. I don’t think many (or any) have considered re-designing the styling of a key per se. Uber-cool transportation designer Greg has. His SUPER COOL Designer STAT KEYS collection are stylized blank keys that can be cut to fit majority of American locks and Kwikset locks.

Oh yea they do, coz no matter how hooked we get to technology, emails, chats etc. Snail Mail WILL NOT go out of fashion. So presenting to you here is a very tangible “Lettreman XXL” letter box, to receive those Christmas Checks from grandmas. Besides the “striking peephole”, what I really like about the box is the clever paper-tube, where my callous newspaper boy can leave my morning papers. Well protected from the elements! If the XXL size too big for you, RADIUS DESIGN has two smaller sizes to choose from. BTW I love the zesty orange color one.

This right here is the Climbing Lamp. It is not alive, contrary to the title. It does appear to be climbing, however, just like a good vine plant wood. The Climbing Lamp is also a kit, the kind of kit that allows you to make your own combinations of angles, attachments, and directions. 8 pieces and a plethora of possibility!

Inspired by photosynthesis, the Leaf is a wearable bracelet phone that incorporates solar cells on its front panel for juicing it up. If that’s not good enough, the cradle into which it docks also hosts the cells on the back. Alternatively, on a dark dingy day you can use the trusty electricity to recharge the phone. A pretty basic phone with calls and messages functions only, it’s main objective is to “remind people that they can contribute to energy efficiency.”

Akin to Photoshopping the images to suit your requirements, the VIU Contact Lens blurs out the stark realities of life that you don’t want to see. Transforming your vision to suit your preferences, it can obscure and twist the realities of a stinky dumpster down your alley or block out that offensive Ad on the billboard. Intrigued? No, I’m scared, coz if we have a choice to block out the visions that we don’t like, we may end up as far away from reality as this concept.
