Designer Gabriel Contino conceived Mantara for just such an occasion. Thanks to a dedicated slot that fits the stem of a wine glass, partygoers can hold everything on a single plate, which resembles and is contoured to fit the hand and arm. There’s even a groove near the top for resting a utensil, liberating hors d’oeuvres from the restraints of finger-food. It looks like just a concept for now, but hopefully it gets picked up and manufactured. If so, beer and cocktail drinkers are still out of luck.
