Paving paradise for a place to sit. That’s what’s going on here. A project from Springtime that saves a seat for your own booty in a play on the culture-cemented idea of a parking space. Part of a design competition that aimed to give a parking space back to the public. “Person Parking” seems to be made for a low-traffic area in a strip mall district, don’t you think?

Get your stingers out for the “Bikube;” it’s a beehive for modern city dwellers who want to help fix the decreasing bee population. The designer of this project, Adam Weaver, attacks the Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD) problem head-on with this stylish box. It’s a beehive. You attach it to your outside wall. Bees live in it! And you could probably paint flames on it if you wanted to!

We have all done it. You might be doing it right now. If you are reading this site, then you are probably predisposed to doing it all the time. Over thinking a design. That’s what designer Sungho Lee did when he first approached his LED light design. He started by filling a box with all the requisite parts needed to generate a LED light. After stepping back, he stripped his design of everything that wasn’t necessary. Basically it’s a paperclip, slightly modified to to hug a watch battery and topped with the LED light. Brilliant!

Oh how I envied Phil Collins when he sat behind the drums, crooning so sensually while his hands never missed a beat with the sticks! You folks may be the guitar freaks, but there are many of us who totally dig the Air Drum thing. Feeding our fantasy is this UFO shaped Electronic Drums by Petr Kubík. Designed for personal use, this electronic device sits neatly between your legs, more like a bongo, and reproduces magical beats when your hands strike its surface.

I don’t know how they manage to do it, but many people are like dorks in the kitchen! They get two left-feet and splatter the whole place with mess! To top it off, invariable the smoke alarm goes off, thanks to clumsy ventilation and cooking! This situation is both funny and radical, coz you can’t have the smoke alarm go off for nothing! Rectify the situation with an anti-smoke alarm; welcome Smokey the Remote Smoke Alarm Silencer! No more hurrying to remove batteries of the alarm.

Tulips are a special bunch of flowers for me; when I see any reference to them, it takes me back to that once-a-decade Floriade Show of Amsterdam. Acres and acres of beautiful blossoms in the scenic heart of Europe! Likewise, this cute Onyx and metallic amalgamation christened “Tulip”, captivates you. The USP of this floor lamp is that you get to decide what shape it should take. The four symbolic petals peel away to reveal the LED lamps, which represent the stigma and anther of the flower. Create the perfect lighting ambiance for your home.

Really, why would I want this MID (Mobile Internet Device) over the current iPhone I use? Lord! I know you’re up to your neck with Apple banging, so for a change let’s compare it to an LG Arena, Samsung I7500 or even BlackBerry Storm 2. Where does this MID score over the rest of these Internet efficient phones? Two places: Prime Real Estate i.e. a three screen setup that opens to 210 x 210 mm and an Integrated Stand.

Oh yes, showers indeed. Apparently when you’re at the public shower, you put your money in the slot, and you get a limited amount of water, just like air at the air pump. If you use the public shower a lot, no prob! But if you don’t, you don’t know how much water you’re gonna get. So check it out. The “Interactive Shower System” has a little pixel hourglass to tell you how much water you’ve got left to get clean. In the public shower.

It screams RETRO on the outside and features all the goodness of modern technology on the inside. Alhambra Wi-Fi Internet Radio is a wireless internet radio receiver that streams in music to every corner of your home. As the designer puts it, “In contrast to its modern lines, it brings back details from old tube radios from the past.” I’m loving it!

Who wouldn’t enjoy an elaborate lunch, but to cook and carry a feast to work or school is next to impossible. Alright, even if you cook the hearty meal, how will you carry it? Spills, space, boxes…oh such a pain! Fret not; the new superhero of lunch service is here. Sunch! The lunchbox that does a transformer stunt and converts into a tray with an array of dishes to feast from. Impromptu picnic during lunch hour at work? Sunch will take care of the lack of picnic tables in the vicinity. Just open it up and arrange the tray across your lap and enjoy your meal!
