A couple of things: 1. Matt & Nat isn't French Canadian. They are located in Montreal but neither owner is French Canadian. In fact, they do not provide hardly any customer support in French.
2 . See gatchagatcha's comment above. "Vegan Leather" is very clever marketing-speak for PLASTIC. Their bags are mostly made of PVC. PVC is harmful to the environment and to people.
3. These bags are made in China. I wonder how much money their paying their factory workers there, with the bags priced so highly? I bet not nearly enough.

“…vinyl contained tributyltin (TBT) which is both toxic to animals and is known to have caused sex changes in marine wildlife. ”

According to the Royal Society (Endocrine Disrupting Chemicals. Document 06/00 June 2000) the organotin TBT is responsible for “abundant, undisputed, and world-wide population-level effects in wildlife”.

Vegan leather = vinyl = beware.

I think the grey suede linking is what really pushes this piece over the top. It looks fantastic, and I’d hardly call $315 a real leather price tag… Well, at least not real designer leather.

Matt and Nat produce excellent laptop bags. I have a brown one to carry my laptop about and i have plenty of room to carry adapters and books as there are side pockets, interior pockets to fit in equipment. They also come with pen/pencil holder and a place to put you key ring. I am even able to pack some clothes in there without it all getting too heavy.

The quality is spot in as it should be for the price tag!
