Ferrari Joins London
Perhaps you’ve been? London is a home to many, many fine shops, quite a few of them dedicated to one single brand. Lots of them are the kind of brand that has a couple shops and that’s it! Ferrari. What do you think of when you think of this brand? Exclusivity? The patented red + yellow? Crazy conceptual works? Better wear sunglasses in here.
Made by the lovely folks at Massimo Iosa Ghini. This is the London Ferrari Store. Surely your eyes and pocketbooks will be taken hostage. Yellow bands! Each different area of the store is a slightly different concept, with features like transparent glass floors and the lacquered finish of walls to tie the whole experience into one single Italian fantasy.

I’m not up to all my Ferrari details, but when did they get a sporting goods store?

Yup, I am indeed proud to be from London, and the Ferrari store in Regent Street is something else. I am not too much into cars, (a little bit maybe), but I love Ferrari red, and eventually I ended up buying a backpack as that was all I could afford… Erhh, or should I say it INSPIRED me to buy a backpack. (I ended up buying it at ebay, as I could get it at half price there… How emberrasing to admit that. Removed the logo from the backpack as I don't want to a walking add too, now that we are coming clean anyway.) None the less London is the shopping mecca on this side of the pond, and all the big boys in design, regardless of what they design, are here.
As for the actual design of the shop. It is pretty awesome. By the way the lacquered finish to the wall, I believe to be Armour Coating or polished plaster. Bloody expensive stuff. I am a builder / designer here in London and have worked with it a few times. Looks awesome, but not for that kind of money, thank you very much.) And as for the glass floors… Well, once in a while a pretty girl will be blushing wildly when she realizes she is wearing a skirt.
