Why don't the politicians say anything about that??? Ha Ha. It wouldn't surprise me. Everything is based on money and power. If it is true, though, it doesn't negate the fact that we waste a lot of water no matter what part of the country we're in. Thanks for the info.

Interesting Todd, I’ve never heard that before. Why don’t the politicians say anything about that??? Ha Ha. A note about water conservation in California. It's a political battle, not an environmental one. Many entities have fought tooth and nail over water rights for as long as there has been a California. The state government, caught in the middle, uses the "environmental" message as an easy way to get the public to use less (costs money) and be able to sell more to other users (makes money).
Every few years we have a drought. But somehow that drought goes away. It has been repeated for a hundred years.

Chris – love your new uber-caffeine writing style. The lesser known fact is, we can still get the greenery but with quarter the water usage. California friendly plants require very little water to thrive on. And you can always replace your green grass with a synthetic turf. here are some more tips on water wise landscaping: http://www.bewaterwise.com/ww_landscaping.html
Check them out and pass it on to fellow Southern Californians!

Yes its very important to spread awareness about how we waste water in trying to build a beautiful landscape.
