pretty straightforward design that nicely implemented… no hinges, clasps or moving parts – just a top meets bottom, shoebox approach.

I wouldn’t worry too much about heat issues, would be more curious about signal noise quality with a ton of cables and transformer boxes stacked and coiled in one location – although vent holes on the sides couldn’t hurt…

other then that it seems like it would also make for a comfy home for mice.

Well I cant say if the life has been yet, but neither box is much warmer than my room (0.5 C, ±0.2), so i don’t foresee any issues.

The other great thing about putting them in boxes is that i cant see the neon or LED indicators, my desk is in my bedroom so this is important, otherwise i stick blu-tack or gaffer tape over them.

As for the heat, I don’t think that it would be a problem. I have something similer myself: a box-file with 2 adapters in it (mac mini, external hard drive); and a gutted PC case (2* monitor adapters + all of the power leads). And neither has caught fire yet.

Checked the site-made of fire-retardant plastic; still, I wonder if the lack of ventilation might shorten the life of power adapters.
