70 tickets is something I would rather blow my money on than a desk. What does my ego have anything to do with it? If you're so above it (me) why respond? Aren't you in heaven with your desk?

How does your cheaper solution, which we can only take your word for being just as stylish and functional as the onelessdesk, invalidate someone else's purchase of it. Is your ego so fragile that somehow our purchase of a desk must be insulted? I am glad you are having such fun with your deal. Why do people find the need to mock what the can not afford? What does 70 movie tickets have to do with anything?

Thanks Marshall!
True, we essentially sell the desk for a wholesale, factory-direct price on our website. If ever we were to switch to purely "trade sales" or "contract sales" OneLessDesk's price tag would be $1200 just like most other small, contract-grade designer desks. See dwr.com for examples.

Glad you like OneLessStand and OneLessFile!

Everything slides well on carpet. The feet have some surface area to them that help them float on carpet a bit, and yet sink into the carpet to make everything stable. No tendency to tip, even on thick carpet.

To slide the lower deck out from the upper deck, you just pinch the sides of the lower deck and pull.

As for mixed colors in the photography... I figured people would most likely own a matching set. We went with all buttercup for the photos so that the products would stand out - I guess I succeeded. :)
Besides, I wanted to make the link color on the site be complimentary to the buttercup. It's true that the Buttercup color is for people who want the desk to be a big accent in their living space. I love my Buttercup OneLessOffice set.

Actually my solution was cheaper than ikeas and it's quality vintage design haas lasted much longer than 20 years. So I'd rather buy 70 movie tickets than 1 desk solution that promises quality and design which I already have. I'll wine about the price when I can come up with something equivlent for pennies to the dollar. Enjoy your $1000 paper weights, I know you will!

Dean,

I just checked your website and see that you have added OneLessStand and OneLessFile. They look great!

How well do the units slide on carpet? Can you describe, for example, how the nested deck is grasped to slide? Is there a tendency to tip?

Also it would seem to me you could improve the "presentation? by mixing colors - by this I mean not having the stand, the deck, and the OneLessFile all be color matched. On your website it is a bit overwhelming to the eye (says me who has no design sense whatsoever)

Finally to all of you who are whining about the price... The $679 price for the desk is outrageous -- outrageously low. Try pricing a quality desk and see what numbers you get -- you can beat the price at IKEA, but don't expect stunning design or something that is going to last 20+ years.
