This is design masturbation in its worst!

Create and "solve" problem that doesn't exist:
Birds don't have a problem to find the nest.
Birds don't fly in the night as they sleep. Artificial light makes it worst.

Using solar panel where unnecessary is bold waste of the resources - the panels were manufactured and shipped from China. Even if they hide behind words "solar, green, ecological, etc.."
Also, I am sure that birds would be excited about using meranti wood imported half way thru the world from Malaysia.

Unecessary product with zero added value and huge carbon footprint. This is design at its worst.

Please leave birdhouses construction for kids. They do it better and use local materials like old wooden boxes or waste material. The whole point of birdhouse is NOT to provide accomodation to birds. They can manage without those birdhouses completely.

Kids build birdhouses for two reasons: to learn basic crafts skills and to learn something about nature.

This "design" is exactly what overexcited kid would build if got spare money to spend.

[...] Here is a greenest Birdhouse in the world. Its roof comes with a solar panel that will collect the sun’s power throughout the day and store it on a tiny battery. When dusk falls, the built-in sensor will turn on the lamp to illuminate your garden. Sadly, it is only a concept at this time. [Yanko] [...]
