Guess I'm a rarity! I heard people would throw them away when they would get dim, I just replaced the re-chargeable battery and it was good as new! ;-) Ps this outdoor furniture is actually not solar panels as we are discussing. Their surface has been sprayed with photovoltaic cells, so you really can make this look like whatever. Hell spray it on a wonder substance that creates no pollution in its created...

how much energy goes into the production of this item? and how long will it last? crappy home depot cells rarely last more than 3 years, roof panels degreade after 6 years. so when people say its free energy and clean energy they dont completely look at the entire picture.

As the article states this will be a supplementary object to all the others in the yard also collecting light. I have solar powered lamps from Home Depot and they collect energy on cloudy days- enough to last all night! I think the umbrella, bench, chairs, everything could incorporate solar cells. Hell get rid of the lawn too, cover it also, and the dog, and the... Ok when is it too much? When we start selling energy back to the grid?
