Be Green While You Lean

Be Green While You Lean

As you have probably noticed, sustainable designs are very important to me, and finding a functional green design gets me excited. The Barnacle Chair by designer Ania Wagner is made from sustainable wood and lined with a cultivated industrial felt. This chair allows the user to sit in it, similar to bucket seating or flip it over and multiple users can lean against it while seated on the floor.

OLED Display Keeps The Insulin Pumping

OLED Display Keeps The Insulin Pumping

When a new technology comes to market, a ripple effect can cause all sorts of product categories to benefit. To wit, insulin pumps have lagged behind the industry of personal gadget design with poor battery life and clunky design. Jiri Bukvald attempts to assuage these problems with his Bachelor project Insulin Pump by utilizing new OLED technology. With the increased efficiency of the OLED display, diabetes sufferers can relax their constant battery swapping and gain just a bit more independence from their affliction.

My Entire House be Rearranging Itself, Grid-wise

My Entire House be Rearranging Itself, Grid-wise

I just saw an episode of Futurama where instead of the elevator moving though the building, the entire building moved when the button was pressed. This is the SAME THING – except the screaming is for joy, not terror. Let us together usher in this new age of change with the Grid House.

Light Under My Bottom, Light Under My Drink

Light Under My Bottom, Light Under My Drink

In an ideal world, we can touch any object in our environment to activate its inner-light. This will allow those of us who are night-owls to live in a well-lit workplace (or playplace) with light above us, below us, or all around us. When this day comes, it will be a magically all-lit fairyland of glee and friendship. Today we are one step closer to that dream with this light-seat-or-table from a mister Gilles Rivière, who names his light-tribution “Ti.Galet!”

Fireworks Help Find Your Car

Fireworks Help Find Your Car

Every time I get out of a car I yell to my friends the exact floor, side, and column it’s located on. Two hours later we’re all wandering around trying to find it. Constantly clicking the remote keyless entry doesn’t help unless you’re within audible distance. I need something bigger, something I can’t miss. How about fireworks?
