Well, it’s not my concept to elaborate on, but for an innovative design like this, why not go all out? For starters, why go with traditional wine glass shapes? If one of the major goals of the concept really is stackability, might as well redesign those things to be truly stackable. Which I guess you think they are, but I disagree.

And the title for this article is a huge stretch.

Check the last pic again, the top of the glasses are more stackable than they would have been with the stem attached. Also the last pic is weird because I’d think you’d want to put them upside-down.

But then again, it seems like the bottom of the glass is flat because of the hole where the stem-hole goes.

Well, glasses are easy to take in the cupboard because they have a stem, I’m afraid I would make them fall if they don’t.
Other than that, it’s not a bad idea, but it won’t save you lot of space, as the top of the glasses are not stackable.

(hmm, too small ray trace depth in the last image?)
