Inside the clear crystal capsule, a combination of gas and liquid ethyl chloride expands into the chamber as the temperature rises, which compresses the internal spring. As the temperature lowers, the spring slackens. Newson once again shows his brilliance in design.
<---ummm..this part is funny,as I know this machanism is the feature of this kind of clock, not related to any brilliance of Newson.
However, if you could compare the other 2 of this clock. his design really makes a different to the old traditional 1.

A perfect clock for those of us who tend to be quite forgetful. And it says "powered by changes in temperature", but what kind of amplitude should the changes have? Because if it stays inside a house, at almost the same temperature everytime of the year, it may not last long. Unless you put it in the fridge every night maybe ...

I totally agree (and the “looks like a pickle jar upturned” comments make me laugh a lot <img

you cant read it easily. the white numbers the black hands and the clear face make it difficult to make out what time it is..
using chemicals liquid ethyl chloride ?? might not be a planet friendly way of telling the time.
and aesthetics? looks like a pickle jar upturned.. Sorry Marc, but you are only as good as your last piece of design.. so pull you frickin socks up buddy..!

its like a kick to the nuts when you favourite designer does something that you dont like, so i will make this short..

you cant read it easily. the white numbers the black hands and the clear face make it difficult to make out what time it is..

using chemicals liquid ethyl chloride ?? might not be a planet friendly way of telling the time.

and aesthetics? looks like a pickle jar upturned..
