Tear down your walls
Anyone who has spent a significant period of time either living in a small windowless apartment or tripping through the galaxy on a mind bender may have at one point felt the urge to tear a hole in the wall to let some light in. Judging by this concept, designer Billy May almost surely has. His Torn Lighting is perfectly disguised on your wall while hiding it’s LED secrets from view. The result is the rather impressive illusion sure to leave your guests bemused, provided you paint it to match your walls of course.

Hey…i dma like this…but curious how the installation will work, as i see no partine lines but only an opening
Ralph Hilborn says
you have to paint it to match the walls… I’m sure professional installation is advised to make the most of it.

How can these be purchased, and how are they powered?

This is amazing! I want these!!! Can you buy these? Please let me know! Great work!

It wouldn’t be something you would buy, but rather have a contractor do. Its easy, just have them wireup the LED’s, and have a seamless plastered opening – just make sure that the area where the plaster opening starts isn’t noticed or else it will not look like a ‘tear’.

Yes, how is it powered? I would love to make a “temporary” stick on application. Probably use low powered LEDs for sure with a battery, but what material is thin enough that it would blend with the wall, is also paint/texture-able, and rigid enough to hold a shape?
TJ says
Or, is there a temporary version available for purchase?
