My son is a great kid who is learning to open the outside doors to our home and I've found that belting him to the kitchen chair is just wrong. He does not understand the concept of danger in any way no matter how I try to explain it. I have to go to the restroom from time to time, answer the phone, and yes blink...and he can be gone that fast.
