I live in New York and I'm sure some insect or other would gladly make it's home there. It's a nice concept, but something I'd be more vigilant about keeping clean--insects aside, the buildup of mold and fungus would throw me off. Small wildlife, nothing. Like all garden products, it's limited to certain environments and climates, obviously.
