I live in New York and I'm sure some insect or other would gladly make it's home there. It's a nice concept, but something I'd be more vigilant about keeping clean--insects aside, the buildup of mold and fungus would throw me off. Small wildlife, nothing. Like all garden products, it's limited to certain environments and climates, obviously. If you live in a place where the bugs will leave standing water alone for a few days, this would be a great product. In particular: think places with lots of small wildlife. This is very clever.
