This design actually helps with that as well, since it would just pull apart at the closest connection instead of flinging everything plugged in around AND disconnecting them from the outlet.

Cables normally get pulled out whether they're segmented or not. The implementation is unsound but the concept is brilliant.
Change the inter-socket connectors, make them lockable, i.e. a button on the side of the sockets to release so things arent half plugged together which would be a fire risk. Also make those plugs/sockets safe and have a suitable earth connection.
Nice idea. Even have some ideas of my own as to how you could limit the number of sockets so you didnt overload it.

Some people can’t see past the end of thier noses can they?!

The implementation is unsound but the concept is brilliant.

Change the inter-socket connectors, make them lockable, i.e. a button on the side of the sockets to release so things arent half plugged together which would be a fire risk. And anyone with a bit electronic skills know that wall outlets don't have positive and ground, but alternating current/voltage.

Seems scary.
