Pierced Plastic Shelving

In a unique design by designer Hunn Wai, the Wood X Plastic Shelf is a unique design all its’ own. Wood X is made from smoke colored plastic shelves and beech poles. Looking closely, Wood X is based on a concept of impaling the wooden poles into the plastic. How is this done? Well the plastic is heated up and holes are cut into it. Once the plastic is hot, the poles are pressed into it and cooled, allowing for a strong bond to form between the two materials. The process is repeated until the desired strong and sturdy table is achieved.
