Customizable face plates for electronics is all the rage right? This clamshell phone is all about user customization. The grid lattice structure holds colored pins to mimic precious jewelry. Create all kinds of designs and patterns in full pixelated isometric glory. Limited edition versions with precious metals and gems could also be created to heighten the sense of personal style and design.

I think this will be popular for females. Generally speaking the clam shell design is catered to females.

something similar came out already (back in the days when camera phone wasn’t a big hit, maybe 2005?).
it is made by TOSHIBA (a japanese phone company).
i think on the front of the phone was a huge (black mirror type of surface, sort of like the LG shine) display with LED lights build in, and the design changes whenever text messages, incoming calls are received. you can also customize your own design to be displayed on the cellphone. it’s been a long time, i can’t manage to find images of it anymore. i really wanted it when it first came out, but they were discontinuing because camera phones were becoming the main stream of the market.
