In these irrationally exuberant times, it’s getting harder and harder for the self-respecting pessimist to stay unhappy. So pervasive is the hope, so overwhelming the positivity, that without the firmest grip on your sullen perspective, you might actually lose it. Then one day, you wake up looking at the bright side, whistling some inane showtune, and generally annoying everyone around you.

Freedom of Creation is one the first design companies to specialize in design for Digital manufacturing. Digital manufacturing is the process of combining a 3D CAD file with, for instance, a laser sintering machine and as a result, a virtual electronic file is rendered into a solid object. Significant economic benefits, such as elimination of warehouse, stock, and assembly process, reduction in transportation costs and just-in-time production can be achieved.

Matthias Lange is no stranger at Yanko Design with various designs such as FlapCam and Clipset being already featured. This time around he created the Mp3 Pocket Player, designed to be comfortably used while worn in the trouser pocket. Due to the curved shape all relevant controls and the display are visible, no matter if the user is sitting or walking.

With the new Civic Type R, Honda has gone down the admirable route of ignoring the current horsepower battle and choosing character and poise. That’s not to say the new Type R isn’t fast – it’s enormously rapid.

A minimalist table whose legs are derived from a rectangular shape that is rotated through 90 degree in relation to the top to create the sensation that the table has been turned in relation to its vertical axis. The top is a simple, straight square and its surface develops vertically, joined to the legs in a single part, as if it were a single sculpted block.

‘Book’ is a small and boxy leather bag, constructed simply of a central compartment that fits into a snug harness. Two carrying options are available: a short leather handle fitted with a handleguard, and a long webbing strap to wear ‘Book’ across the body. Made of Nappa leather and finished with raw edges, ‘Book’ comes in four colours, allowing for over fifty possible combinations.

Newsware is a system of wireless connected digital devices. Each device serves a simple purpose without an overload of unnecessary functions. The Camera shoots images or video and uses the benefits of external displays, the VoiceStick records audio and the NotePad collects and organizes all information recorded with those devices. Its double sided touch display permits a quick application change or flipping pages like in a book.

PT3 (Puma Table Tennis Tournament) was conceived in the beginning of 2006 based on a simple idea: to bring a community together for the sheer passion of table tennis, more affectionately known as ping-pong. In conjunction with the forthcoming launch of French 77, a sports lifestyle collection inspired by the style and clothing of Argentinean tennis player Guillermo Vilas, PT3 pits thirty-two teams against each other.

The Easy Chair concept is based on urban living trends, going towards smaller living spaces. The concept consists of two chairs and a table that fits into each other for the users to adjust and to meet their own needs. Put together in either way it will appear as a comprehensive solution for outdoor and indoor use.

The instant success of the Experience Lab (project which aims to introduce people to their radiators without actually showing them) triggered the idea at Jaga (radiator brand) to bring the same experience and emotions into a moving platform or medium that allows to mimic this wherever in the world Jaga wants to go. That led to the idea of creating an ‘experience truck’.

The canopy and all the hardware is enclosed in the handle. A knob on its face turns to unlock the inner mechanism. The knob slides down the umbrella, forcing the canopy arms out through the top of the shaft. The flexible plastic arms are bent as the exit the handle, pulling the canopy with it. When fully open, the knob is turned back to lock the umbrella open.

Introduced at the 2007 Salone Satelite in Milan, these pieces are based roughly on the shape of a dog, in different sizes and positions. These characters, named after famous Mexican wrestlers (Dos caras Jr, Aguayo, Superastro, El Santo, Alushe and Mistico) follow you around your house or office, and may work as a side table, stool, bench, bookshelf, magazine rack, newspaper holder, bookends, etc.
