MIPS Helmet - Protects 40% Better by Syntes Studio
In Sweden alone, over a thousand riders fall off their horses every year. Four of them die. That statistic proves riding to be one of the most dangerous sports in Sweden. With an innovative and patented technology called Multidirectional Impact Protection System (MIPS) developed by leading scientists at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) and Karolinska Institutet (KI), the new MIPS-helmet protects the users 40% better than conventional helmets. The inspiration for the invention derived from the brain’s own protecting system and is based on a dual layer structure that releases and compensates the rotation of the brain in case of an oblique impact.
