Emergency Cast by Yoon Bahk
The cast is intended for emergency use. It comes flat packed. To use it is folded up and the injured arm is slid in. After locking the velcro strips around the arm, then air is pumped inside the inflatable lining to hold the arm in place securely till the user gets hospital treatment. They already make these, however instead of being inflatable, they’re vacuum based.

we used these in the USAF like 8 years ago. Complete with inflation and velcro

I’d like to have seen a photo of it in flat pack form too.

The vacuum-based design is way to heavy to take with while backpacking or on expedition. An ultralight design like this would be okay, but it would be better if it were dual-purpose.
If it is stiff, perhaps it can be used as a support stay in a backpack?
