I think non-directional design must mean that it does not look great from any one direction

Laura is right, but it’s not so important for yanko design to adjust this
Kazushige Miyake is from the same circle of designers like Fukasawa, Hecht an Matsumoto. But the bigger coffee maker Myake’s looks very, very similar to the one from Hecht. Muji’ll have his reasons to give a similar breeving to Miyake.
This Muji product is only available in Japan and has a 110 Volt plug- not usable in europe.
